For the first time since losing to Thomasville and Akron to start the 2001 season, the Sweet Water Bulldogs were 0-2 to start the season coming into Friday’s contest against Millry.
Coach Pat Thompson’s squad put the losing streak behind them and got back to their winning ways by knocking off Millry 34-6.
Sweet Water got on the board first with 5:24 left in the opening quarter when Jacory Brown busted a 6-yard run for a touchdown. The two point run by Braiden Broussard was good to give the Bulldogs the early 8-0 advantage.
Bulldog DB Kaleb Greene (13) rips the ball away from Wildcat QB/WR Cullen Warr.

Millry answered right back with 2:22 left in the opening quarter as Cullen Warr scored from 8 yards out. The extra point attempt was no good, leaving the score at 8-6.

The Bulldogs would add one more score before halftime. Just inside the second quarter, Chastain Washington carried the ball two yards for the score. Kaleb Greene added the two-point attempt to give Sweet Water the 16-6 halftime advantage.
Greene was the only scorer in the third quarter as he took the opening kickoff back 84 yards for a touchdown. The two-point attempt was no good, leaving the score at 22-6.
Sweet Water added two more scores late in the fourth quarter. One of those was on a 27-yard run by Clint Vickers and the other was a 52-yard run by Brown. Those two scores, coupled with two extra point attempt misses, left the score at 34-6.
Brown led the way for Sweet Water as he had 18 carries for 181 yards on the night. Sweet Water outgained the Wildcats 320-279 on the evening.
Sweet Water (1-2,1-1) will travel to just outside of Jackson, Miss. next Friday to take on Scott Central. Millry (2-1, 0-1) will play host to McIntosh.
After escaping a tackler, Kaleb Greene streaks down the far sideline for a second half opening TD.
