NFL teams were obligated to cut their rosters from 75 players to the obligatory 53-man maximum Saturday, in the process cutting loose some 700 players. Among those not packing his bags and looking for a new job is Sweet Water alum Chris Landrum.

An undrafted free agent signee out of Jacksonville State, Landrum made the San Diego Chargers 53-man roster following a strong preseason that showcased his ability to rush the passer. Landrum had five total tackles and 0.5 sacks in his limited in-game snaps.

Listed at 6-2, 245, Landrum shifted to outside linebacker for the Chargers after spending his Jacksonville State days with his hand on the ground at defensive end.

Landrum earned All-OVC honors last season while helping lead the Gamecocks to the Division I Football Championship Game in Frisco, Texas. He left Jacksonville State as the school record holder with 39.5 tackles for loss, 162 yards lost from tackles and 16 sacks.

Landrum is married (Bria) and has a 2-year-old son, Christopher Landrum Sr. He is the son of Roosevelt and Jacqueline Landrum.
