Single-vehicle crash claims life of Demopolis man, injures two

A single-vehicle crash at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, claimed one life and injured two others.

Harold Lee Johnson, 60, of Demopolis was killed when the 1993 GMC pickup in which he was a passenger left the roadway and overturned. Johnson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Glenn Lewis, 51, also of Demopolis and another passenger were injured and transported to a local hospital.

The crash occurred on U.S. 43 near the 130 mile marker, three miles south of Demopolis.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
