School system details procedure to return to on-campus learning

The Demopolis City School Board and School System Administrators are modifying the time frame for virtual students to return to on-campus learning.

The original date of Jan. 4, 2021, is now Oct. 19 for virtual students who wish to return to on-campus instruction. Parents who are interested in this transition must complete a Re-Entry form for each child who is moving back to the classroom and submit it to the applicable school(s) by Friday Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.

Re-entry forms are located at each school and the central office.  Beginning Monday, Sept. 28, the forms also will be available on each school’s website.

After Oct. 2, the next opportunity to move from virtual education to on-campus instruction will be in late December.

Technology, materials and supplies that were given to students at the beginning of the school year will need to be returned to the applicable campus on Thursday, Oct. 15, between 8 a.m. and noon. This includes Chromebooks, hot spots, textbooks, workbooks and manipulatives. Once all of the supplies have been returned, they will go through a sanitizing process.

Only after all materials and supplies have been returned will students receive their schedule/teacher(s) assignments.
