Rotary honors seniors; learn of Tuscaloosa VA

Demopolis Rotarians learned about the programs and services offered by the Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Hospital as they welcomed Damon Stevenson, Public Affairs Officer.

Tuscaloosa VA representative Damon Stevenson is welcomed by Rotary president Ashley Coplin.

The club also recognized its senior members as part of the City of Demopolis’ “Senior Adult Appreciation Week.”  Each received a small bag of peppermints and were thanked for their “commit-mint” to Rotary.

Stevenson said some of the services offered at the Tuscaloosa VA include primary care, specialist referrals, long- term care, and rehabilitative (PTSD, substance abuse, mental health) care.

Tuscaloosa VA offers services locally every Tuesday (except for the 4th Tuesday) at Whitfield Regional Hospital. The Tuscaloosa VA is ranked 12th in quality and 21st in veterans’ trust out of 141 facilities across the nation.
