Rotary has busy week

This week has a busy one not only in Demopolis with the Babe Ruth World Series Baseball Tournament but in the Demopolis Rotary Club as well.

Rotary Club members and their families initiated the Splash Pad the club funded at the City Landing.

On the evening of Tuesday, August 6, Rotarians and their families experienced the Splash Pad for the very first time! The Splash Pad is operational but not complete. Pizza was served, along with, a special visit from the Ice Cream Truck!

Rotary president Ashley Coplin shares the history of the Demopolis club with District Governor Skip Dotherow, right, and club members Woody Collins and Claude Nielson.

At the meeting on August 7, the club welcomed District Governor Skip Dotherow and his wife Terri. DG Skip stressed the importance of including families in Rotary service projects and events. He also discussed the significance of telling our club’s story.

The Club presented DG Skip with a basket of “Demopolis” themed goodies and shared with him some of the history of the club through a timeline. The club looks forward to welcoming the Dotherows back when the Splash Pad is complete.
