River City Blue to host Bands on the River

The Demopolis High School “River City Blue” marching band will be hosting the first annual Bands on the River marching contest at the DHS Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The contest will feature nine bands from across West Alabama.  Bands scheduled to compete are:  Isabella High School, Leroy High School, Sweet Water High School, Fruitdale High School, Thomasville High School, Jackson High School, Clarke County High School, Southern Choctaw High School, and Hale County High School. The River City Blue will be performing in exhibition.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 1:40 p.m. with the award ceremony scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Admission for adults is $5, Students are $3, Children 5 & Under are free.  Parking is $2.
