Ramsey has strong DYW showing

The Distinguished Young Women of Alabama program was held Jan. 18-19.

Nolie Ramsey represented Marengo County after winning the county program in September.

At the state program, Ramsey placed in the Top 5 in the Talent and Scholastics categories and also was a winner in the Best Your Best Self essay portion of the program.

She received scholarships totaling $2,000 (scholastics – $1,000; Talent – $800; BYBS essay – $200).

Ramsey is a student at Thomasville High School.
