Police Department schedules Women’s Self-Defense Class

Every year, millions of women are the victims of violence – usually at the hands of someone they know.

Recognizing that every woman should know basic techniques for protecting themselves against attack, the Demopolis Police Department is offering a Women’s Self-Defense Class, which will run for four weeks beginning June 18.

The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Called “The Equalizer” this course will teach women how to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of violence, and how to effectively resist physical attack, if necessary.

Registration is $50. For more information or to register, contact Sheila Rodgers or Sgt. Richard Bryant at the Demopolis Police Department, 334-289-3073.
