To honor the life and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. each year, the MLK Unity Celebration Scholarship Committee awards several scholarships to Marengo County young men who are in their senior year of high school.

The applicants write essays and complete interviews in order to compete for the scholarships, which were awarded Sunday, Jan. 17. Seven Linden High School seniors completed the application process to compete for a scholarship.
