Pepper Jelly Festival to feature Southern sounds

When Thomaston’s latest installment of the Pepper Jelly Festival opens Saturday, April 28, the community and cultural attraction will feature a series of musical acts sure to ease the Southern soul.

The Glory Road Quartet is a Southern Gospel Music group from Thomasville, Alabama; and features singers from some legendary groups as “The Centurions” and “The Revelators”. They have been singing together for the past 12 years and are one of the few groups left that travel with a live band. Their goal is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, ease the pain of the hurting, and help others as we travel this road together to Glory! Members of the group are Jimmy Dement, Daryl Dement, Tracy Newton, Brian Starks, Wes Starks, Danny Joe Beach, Zach LeNoir, Buck Jordan, and Kaye Morgan!

Rebecca Boler Vick resides in Grove Hill, Alabama. She is married to Craig Vick and is mom to three daughters, Halee’, Faith, and Shelby. She has taught school for over 25 years.  At the present time, she teaches 6-8 grade Math and Science at Monroe Intermediate School in Packers Bend, Alabama. Rebecca is music minister at Riverview Baptist Church in Millers Ferry, Alabama. She is known for helping with area stage shows and singing Patsy Cline hits.

Tammy Shaw, a native of Cuba, Alabama, has been singing and playing music since her grandmother gave her a guitar on her ninth birthday. Tammy plays folk, country, and soulful gospel, as well as original songs. Tammy has performed solo and as lead singer in a number of bands in Mobile, Alabama. Most recently, she provided entertainment for a gallery open house at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama.

Trey Webb was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and started playing harmonica as a young boy. He is self-taught on harmonica and guitar. He loves the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Currently living in Molino, Florida where he is a member of the Men’s Ensemble at Highland Baptist Church.

Josh and Kayla Gill are a guitar-picking duo. Josh Gill has been the pastor of Thomasville Church of God for seven years, father of three, married for 23 years.

Kayla Gill graduates this year, pursuing a career in nursing with plans to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
