Patriots take down Jaguars, 28-12

The Linden Patriots traveled to Greenville on Friday night to take on the Hillcrest Jaguars. The Patriots scored all 28 of their points in the first half and held the Jaguars our of the end zone. However, the Jaguars were able to score touchdowns in the third an fourth quarters, but it wasn’t enough as the Patriots got the 28-12 win.

The Patriots had 435 yards on the ground on 31 carries. Zelly Aldridge had 173 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Stephon McIntosh had five carries for 126 yards with one touchdown. Tim Thurman had 92 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Joshua Williams had four carries for 42 yards. Williams also completed two passes for 28 yards. Aldridge added 74 yards on five punt returns.

On the defensive side, Thurman led the team with nine tackles and Daryl McIntosh had seven. Tyrik Daniels had six tackles – two for loss and two sacks. Mekhel Miller, Stephon McIntosh, Jamarcus Williams and Aldridge added four tackles each. Jamarcus Willians recoreded a sack and Aldridge recorded a tackle for loss. Antwarne Cosby had three tackles with two sacks and Woyne Charleston added one tackle and one interception.

The Patriots (5-0, 3-0) are scheduled to host R.C. Hatch (0-3, 0-3) next Friday night. However, the Bobcats have three forfeits on the year.
