Patriots shut out Bears, 44-0

The Linden Patriots were unkind hosts to the Keith Bears on their visit to Linden. The Patriots roughed up the Bears and sent them back to Orrville with a 44 point loss.

Zelly Aldridge led the ground attack with seven carries for 106 yards and three touchowns. Stephon McIntosh tallied 78 yards on 5 carries. Tim Thurman had five carries for 42 yards with a touchdown and Jarvis Packer had one carry for a 27-yard touchdown.

Joshua Williams totaled 90 yards, completing five of his nine pass attempts. One of those passes was to Thurman for a 47-yard touchdown. Johnny Blackmon caught two passes for 42 yards.

Thurman and Daryl McIntosh led Linden with six tackles each. Blackmon and Jamarcus Williams tallied five tackles each, while Stephon McIntosh and Kevonta Alston collected four tackles each. Antwarne Cosby and Aldridge added three tackles each. Tyrik Daniels had three tackles and was credited with one sack. Joshua Williams had two tackles and collected an interception for the Patriots.

The Patriots (2-0, 1-0) was scheduled to travel to Selma to take on the Ellwood Christian Academy Eagles next Friday. The Eagles cancelled fall sports and no replacement has been found for the Patriots’ schedule. As such, the Patriots are scheduled to host J.F. Shields on Sept. 18.
