Patriots blank Tornadoes

The Linden Patriots notched their first victory and first shutout of the year when the Pickens County Tornadoes came to town. The Patriots jumped out to a 36-0 lead that prompted a six minute running clock in the second half.

The Patriots racked up 245 rushing yards on 31 carries. The passing game was rather subdued, recording 15 yards with one completion on three attempts.

Zelly Aldridge had 10 carries for 93 yards and one touchdown. Stephon McIntosh gained 81 yards on eight carries and had one touchdown. Tim Thurman scored on a 8-yard run and Jarvis Packer got into the end zone with a 14-yard run. Kevonta Alston recovered a fumble in the end zone for another Patriot score. Daryl McIntosh also added a safety to the points tally for Linden.

Thurman led the defensive effort with five tackles and two pass break ups. McIntosh added three tackles and a sack to the safety. Tyrik Daniels recorded two and a half sacks. Mehkel Miller recorded three tackles and a sack.

The Patriots (1-0) will host the Keith Bears (2-0) next Friday night.
