Meeting to plan for future of Demopolis
Any resident of Demopolis “who cares about our community” is invited to attend a public meeting at Rooster Hall Thursday, June 13, from 6-7 p.m.
Julius Rembert, building inspector, said the meeting is sponsored by the Demopolis Planning Commission in an effort to share ideas and create a plan to guide Demopolis in the years ahead.
According to a flyer announcing the meeting, the one-hour workshop will include a discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing Demopolis and get insight on goals and values.
Demopolis in Action is a process to define and achieve short- and long-term goals for Demopolis by forming a comprehensive plan.
The plan is a strategic guide “expressing the values and aspirations” of Demopolis. It will be the “broadest public policy document” that can be created and will set a “long-range vision for development, housing, environment, economic development, transportation and related topics.”
