The CED Committee listened to presentations from resource advisors who administer state and federal programs that affect municipal government.

ALM has five policy committees composed of municipal officials representing cities and towns of all sizes from the state’s seven Congressional districts. The collective work of the five committees will be compiled and posted to the League’s website at www.alm.org as a set of Proposed Policies and Goals for 2015. The statement will serve as a blueprint to guide the League’s efforts in the Alabama Legislature and in Congress on behalf of its more than 440 member municipalities.

The standing committees are Community and Economic Development, of which Grayson serves as vice-chair; Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations; Energy, Environment and Natural Resources; Human Development and Transportation, Public Safety and Communication.

The ALM was organized in 1935. Its primary purpose is to promote understanding of municipal government and administration in Alabama and thereby advance the welfare of the people of the state.
