Marengo in state of emergency; Hale vaccine rescheduled

Gov. Kay Ivey has issued a state of emergency for 28 counties, including Marengo, ahead of the anticipated severe weather. The state of emergency goes into effect today, March 25, at 10 a.m.

The state of emergency includes: Bibb, Blount, Choctaw, Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hale, Jackson, Jefferson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marengo, Marion, Marshall, Morgan, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston counties.

“Once again, Alabama finds herself facing the threat of severe weather,: said Ivey. “I urge all Alabamians to closely monitor the weather system as it continues to impact portions of our state, especially if you are in the line of the highest risk storms.”

The Alabama National Guard vaccination clinic for first dose recipients in Hale County is rescheduled for this Saturday, March 27, at the Boys and Girls Club, 525 Greene St., Greensboro. The second dose clinic is set for April 15.
