Logan crowned 2015 Miss COTR

10-3-2015 – Demopolis, Ala. – Anna Caroline Logan was crowned Miss Christmas on the River 2015 at the Demopolis Civic Center.

Tonight kicked off the Christmas season for Demopolis, with the first of four Christmas on the River Pageants being held at the Demopolis Civic Center. 19 lovely ladies competed for the prestigious title of Miss Christmas on the River 2015. As James Spann, the Master of Ceremonies, announced every young lady they glided across the stage to try and win the judges’ favor. After the top 10 were announced and then the top five, it was time to announce this year’s Miss COTR and her court.

Placing fourth alternate and wearing a midnight blue two piece Sherri Hill gown was Sidney Alyn Atkins. Sidney not only won fourth alternate but she was awarded the title of Miss Congeniality by her peers. Sidney is the daughter of Rob and Jeremie Mayton and Ken and Teressa Atkins. She is a sophomore at Demopolis High School, where she cheers for the Tigers as a member of the DHS Cheerleading Squad.

Camilla Tutt placed third alternate wearing a white, one of a kind Ann Northington gown. Camilla is the daughter of Marni and Walter Tutt and is a junior at Marengo Academy. Tutt is currently a water girl for the Longhorns and is a member of the Honor Society, National Beta Club and Demopolis First United Methodist Church Praise Team.

In a beautiful black Mori Lee gown encrusted with stones, Ammie Rebekah Ethridge earned the place of second alternate. She is the daughter of Chip and Billie Jo Etheridge and is a senior at Thomasville High School. Ammie is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, a Chamber Ambassador and Clarke County DYW Essay and Fitness winner. Etheridge is also an active member of Pine View Baptist Church.

Finishing out the Miss COTR court as first alternate was Caroline Overmyer in a beautiful white beaded Sherrie Hill dress. Caroline is the daughter of Adrienne and Hugh Overmyer and is a junior at DHS. Caroline is a cosmetology apprentice at Hair Razors in Demopolis and is a DHS cheerleader. She is also involved in Youth Lead, Beta Club, DECA, Key Club and Anchor Club.

The new Miss Christmas On The River for 2015 is Anna Caroline Logan. She was radiant in a beautiful Red Jiovani Gown. Anna Caroline is the daughter of Jim and Heather Logan. She is a senior at Demopolis High School and is involved in the Key Club, BETA club, student council (secretary), Anchor Club (secretary) and is a Youth Lead ambassador. She is also the captain of the DHS Cheerleading Squad. She plans to go to Auburn or Troy to obtain a degree in nursing to fulfill her dream of becoming a travel nurse. She looks forward to representing Christmas on the River and participating in all the festivities, especially the lighting of Christmas tree and the revealing of the special child.

Other members of the top ten were Shoni Allison Jones, Mary Frances Brown, Ann Burt Harrison, Anna Michael Rhyne and Anisha Alvis.
