Linden D.A.R.E. officer provides bullying education

LINDEN — The police department’s D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officer Sonja Myles has an opportunity to teach on the important topic of Bullying in September.

Participating students had a one-day class on the topic. In total, more than 300 students throughout Marengo County took the course. Each child received important information on how to recognize bullying, how to report bullying and how to properly intervene in bullying situations.

Classes that took part in the bullying curriculum were the Linden Elementary fifth grade, the Marengo Elementary fifth and sixth grade, the George P. Austin Jr. High sixth grade, the Marengo Academy seventh grade, the A.L. Johnson fifth grade, the John Essex fifth and sixth grade, the Marengo High fifth and sixth grade and the Sweet Water High fifth and sixth grade.
