Lady Tigers take 14-1 win over Lady Saints

The Demopolis Lady Tigers softball team collected seven walks and survived four batters being hit by pitch a total of seven times during their 14-1 win over the visiting Selma Lady Saints.

Allie Hughes got credit for the win, going four innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out three and walking one. Sydney Smith was credited with plating the winnings RBI, when she singled on a 3-2 count in the bottom of the first inning to bring in Madison Ford and Abby Grace Cameron.

The Lady Tigers scored their 14 runs while collecting only three hits. Smith, Kylie Stokes and Wessie Jacobs collected one hit each, with Stokes’ hit being a double. Ja’Kaseyonna Jones and Alysse Dunklin collected two walks each. Cameron, Lizzie Cannon and Jacobs collected one walk each. Ford was hit by pitch three times, Stokes was hit twice, and Hughes and Jones were hit once each.

Members of the Tiger CUBS (Celebrating Uniqueness and Building Success) special needs class were in attendance for the game. Caty Breitling threw out the first pitch before the game. Others present for the game were Ardarian Raymond, Jalo Holt and Lala Holt.
