Human remains found near Dixons Mills; FBI conducting DNA testing
The FBI now is examining human remains found Oct. 30 on Big Buck Road just north of Dixons Mills.
Marengo County Sheriff Richard Bates said the remains were submitted to the FBI in Quantico, Va., for DNA testing for positive identification.
The search continued Saturday, Nov. 6, for additional remains. Taking part in the investigations were Texas Equusearch, Jackson Police Department’s 1st Judicial Circuit Major Crimes Unit, Clarke County Sheriff’s Department, Thomasville Police Department and Marengo County Fire and Rescue Agency.
Sheriff Bates thanked all of the agencies and people involved in the hard work in processing and collecting the scene.
