Gallion man arrested in hit-and-run case

The Demopolis Police Department has arrested Nicholas Vann Etheredge, 25, of Gallion and charged him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries. The arrest follows a Tuesday morning incident in which two residents were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on Bell Grayson Road. Both victims were taken to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital and one was later airlifted to UAB.

Etheredge is presently in the Marengo County Detention Center awaiting bond.  Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese indicated the case is still under investigation that may result in additional charges.
