Friday automobile accident claims life of Gainesville man

A single-vehicle crash Friday, Aug. 15 claimed the life of a Gainesville man.

Charlie Harris, 61, was killed when the 2004 Jeep Cherokee he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Harris was not wearing a seat belt, according to a release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred at 12:55 p.m. on Alabama 17 at the 169 mile marker, three miles north of Grier. No further information is available, as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate..
