First food truck draws crowd

The Chick-fil-A McCalla Food Truck came to Demopolis Tuesday, an event eagerly anticipated by fans of the restaurant across the city.

The first appearance of a food truck outside of special events such as Christmas on the River was made possible when the Demopolis City Council on Feb. 3 passed a Food Truck Ordinance which will allow mobile vans to dispense food in the city. The ordinance stipulates that the trucks still must pass the Health Department inspection and pay the required business license fees.

Large crowds waited patiently for a chance to order from the Chick-fil-A McCalla Food Truck Tuesday afternoon.

The McCalla truck will be in Demopolis again on Tuesday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will be stationed at Robert’s Family Restaurant, 880 U.S. Hwy. 80 E.
