New superintendent Kyle Kallhoff ended his first full day on the job Monday attending the Demopolis City Schools Board of Education meeting.

Kallhoff started off his announcements by saying how excited he is to be in Demopolis and how much he and his wife appreciate the number of people who have reached out to them with offers to help them transition to a new community.

He also said the board did an excellent job is selecting Dr. Frank Costanzo as the interim superintendent.

Kallhoff said the school system as of Friday had an enrollment of 2,236: 495 at Westside Elementary; 504, U.S. Jones Elementary; 502, Demopolis Middle School, and 735, Demopolis High School.
