ESPN 104.9 names Aldridge Player of the Week

Sweet Water head coach Stacy Luker knew coming into the season that Jakoby Aldridge was going to have some special moments in 2012. He knew Aldridge and his explosiveness would end up being the difference in at least one game somewhere along the way.

Aldridge did not disappoint last Friday night when he hung two touchdowns on the board in the first half against Southern Choctaw. Those scores proved to be the difference in the game as Sweet Water took a 14-8 win over the Indians.

As for Aldridge, he has emerged as the bell cow back to lead a talented stable that has Sweet Water at 3-1 after its first four contests. He led the way last week with 25 carries, 127 yards and two scores.

The performance not only helped earn his team a key victory, but also garnered him Player of the Week recognition from the ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show, which presented Aldridge a commemorative T-shirt at Batter Up Sports Grill in Demopolis Friday night.
