Demopolis woman accused of murder, in jail on $500,000 bond

Angelica Quintana, 28, of Demopolis is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail accused of murder after striking and killing Dennis Melton, 27, also of Demopolis. The two were involved in a domestic relationship.

The incident occurred near mile marker 76 on Interstate 59/20 Tuesday morning when law enforcement officers arrived at the scene after a 911 call. They found Melton trapped under a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

Witnesses gave officers information that the incident could have been intentional. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was contacted and took over the investigation. More information led to Quintana’s arrest. She remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
