Brooks then chipped in his fifth goal of the season with an unassisted effort to cap the scoring.

“Good region match,” Demopolis coach Keith Jackson said. “We just were unlucky the first half. We had several shots on goal. We just didn’t finish.”

Jackson said the effort from his team was a stark contrast to what it produced in the two previous matches, both weekend losses.

“That was a lot different from our last two games,” Jackson said. “I felt like their midfielders possessed the ball more. I challenged our team to step up.”

The Tigers controlled the ball for well over 95 percent of the match Tuesday, pouring in an onslaught that included 22 shots on goal as opposed to only three from the Stampede.

The Tigers will head to Alma Bryant High School Friday for a weekend tournament.
