Demopolis man found dead on Wild Honey Court
Monday at approximately 2:11 p.m., the Demopolis Police Department received a report of an individual deceased at 155 Wild Honey Court. Members of the Demopolis Public Safety Department (Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Divisions and Demopolis Fire & Rescue) responded along with AmStar EMS.
Demopolis Public Safety Director Tommie Reese said the deceased body of a male was discovered in a wooded part of the yard and was identified by family members as Joseph Phillips Knowles, Jr., age 36, of Demopolis. The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, Alabama for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Reese said that the scene was processed by the Criminal Investigators to be able to preserve any evidence until the cause of death is determined by DFS. The case remains under investigation at this time.
