Demopolis High Homecoming floats

Before the floats rolled through downtown as part of the Demopolis High School Homecoming Parade Friday afternoon, they were on display for judging at the National Guard Armory.

Honors were given to one winning float in each of the class and club categories. Basis for the judging included neatness, originality, appearance and use of the given theme. The theme for this year was Superheroes.

The Demopolis High Student Council won the club float competition while the seniors won the class float.

The Seniors won the class category with their Ironman themed float.

Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice....The DHS Student Council used a Super Friends theme for its float, the gimmick included a hand-drawn Hall of Justice.

The Key Club drew Marvel's incarnation of Thor, the Norse god of Thunder for its superhero. The float included the halls of Valhalla.

The Demopolis High DECA club and career tech classes utilized a Captain America theme that included a mini version of downtown Demopolis as well as a backdrop of the White Bluffs and the phrase "Demopolis Never Bluffs."
