Demopolis Elite celebrates World Cup win with registration drive
Soccer fans in Demopolis celebrated the 2-1 World Cup victory the United States netted over Ghana Monday during a Demopolis Elite kickoff party at Batter Up.
The event, which doubled as a registration drive for Demopolis Elite, saw nearly two-dozen players register to participate in the youth soccer organization.
As part of the event, Demopolis Elite board members gave away an official jersey of the Ghana team during halftime and an official jersey of the U.S. team following the game.
Batter Up also donated 10 percent of the proceeds from the night to Demopolis Elite.
