DCSS opens registration for 2020-2021

The Demopolis City School System is accepting enrollment forms/applications for the 2020/2021 School Year. Enrollment information and forms can be found at https://www.dcsedu.com/

Residents of Demopolis who are registering for school for the first time will need to complete the 20-21 DCS Enrollment Application. Make sure it is complete and the information is accurate.

Two proofs of residency must accompany the completed form along with a copy of the child’s legal guardian’s identification. The address on the identification will need to match the addresses on the proofs of residency. Examples of proofs of residency include utility bills, lease agreements or mortgage statements.

Non-Demopolis residents who are registering for the first time in the system will need to complete a Non-Resident Application Form completely and accurately. Also required are two proofs of residency and a copy of the child’s legal guardian’s identification. The address on the identification will need to match the addresses on the proofs of residency.

Non-resident students entering the Demopolis City School System for the first time will also need to include a transcript/grades from the previous school, with the exception of Kindergarten students entering school for the first time.

Non-resident students will be conditionally accepted pending the review of grades and the application.  The Demopolis City School System charges a $50 fee for non-resident applications and only accepts non-resident students in grade-levels and programs where space is available.

Enrollment forms and supporting documentation can be submitted 3 ways.

  1. Delivered to the applicable school. However, due to COVID-19 this option is not currently available.
  2. Completed forms and all supporting documentation can be scanned and emailed to questions@dcsedu.com.
  3. Mailed to the applicable school(s): Westside Elementary, 1720 Mauvilla Drive, Demopolis, AL 36732; U.S. Jones Elementary, 175 E. Jackson St., Demopolis, AL 36732; Demopolis Middle, 300 E. Pettus St., Demopolis, AL 36732; Demopolis High, 701 U.S. Hwy. West, Demopolis, AL 36732.

Once the enrollment forms/applications are completed and submitted with the supporting information, the information will be reviewed and the parent/guardian will be contacted by the applicable school, usually within five business days after receiving the application.

It is important to remember, that non-resident applications are conditionally accepted until all documentation is received and reviewed.  The school system reserves the right to remove non-resident students who falsify information on the application or accumulate attendance and discipline concerns once in our school system.
