The ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show named its Player of the Week Tuesday night with the present honor going to Demopolis senior running back Roderick Davis.

Against Citronelle last week, Davis ran for 243 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries to go along with a receiving touchdown in a 31-14 DHS win.

Demopolis trailed 14-7 at halftime, a deficit it overcame due in part to Davis erupting for 182 yards on the ground in the second half. Through two games this season, Davis has run for 350 yards on 33 carries.

The ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show crew honored Davis at Batter Up Tuesday night with a commemorative T-shirt.

Demopolis is scheduled to travel to Saraland Friday night for another Class 5A, Region 3 clash.

The ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show weekly selects its Player of the Week out of a talent pool consisting of high schools in Marengo, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Clarke and Choctaw counties.
