County COVID-19 cases miscounted

Latest figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health show the number of coronavirus cases in Marengo County actually went down.

Figures Monday showed five cases in the county; this morning the site showed four.

While it has yet to be confirmed, it is believed a resident of Sumter County whose positive test was taken at the Whitfield Regional Hospital drive-thru site was added to the Marengo County figures. Since then the figures have been changed.

WRH CEO/Administrator Doug Brewer said Tuesday all known cases in the county are believed to be recovering at home. There are six people of interest isolated in the hospital awaiting results of their tests.
