Cameron crowned Miss COTR 2021
As the 50th year of Christmas on the River is upon us, a new Miss Christmas on the River 2021 has been crowned. Abby Grace Cameron is the daughter of Tom and Terri Cameron and granddaughter of one of COTR’s most beloved former emcees, Van Kelley.
Cameron is a senior at Demopolis High School, where she is captain of the cheer team, an All-American cheerleader, a member of the Science National Honor Society, Anchor Club, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and has been on the DHS softball team since seventh grade. Cameron plans to attend the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in Nursing.
Cameron is excited to be in the Christmas on the River Parade for its 50th year and represent her home town in all of the COTR events. Cameron says she cannot wait to spend time with all of her friends in the court for such a historic week.
Abby Grace Cameron was crowned by Cassidy Crawford, who is the longest running Miss Christmas on the River due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Members of the Miss Christmas on the River Court are as follows: First Alternate Madelyn Baty Singleton is a sophomore at Demopolis High School. Second Alternate Emma Ryan Edmonds is a freshman at the University Charter School in Livingston. Third Alternate Buckley Nettles is a senior at Demopolis High School. Fourth Alternate Emery Elizabeth Wideman is a freshman at Demopolis High School.
Members of the Top-10, not listed above, included Bridget Renea Cobb, Sasser Elizabeth Braswell, Addysen Joanna Kloysuntia, Aerial Laknoxy Irby, and Molly Katherine Harrison. Miss Congeniality was Mary Helen Compton, a senior at Demopolis High School.
Christmas on the River 2021 pageants continue Monday night with Miss Junior Christmas on the River slated to start at 7PM at the Demopolis Civic Center.
