Bobby Daniels

Major Bobby Leon Daniels (retired) USMC age 78 of Pensacola, FL died January 15, 2014 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born July 14, 1935 in Pine Hill, AL. He was a graduate of Pine Hill High School and a graduate of Livingston State Teachers College where he played varsity football, basketball, and baseball. He also played semi pro baseball. Bobby was a helicopter combat pilot during the Vietnam War and was a fixed wing aircraft flight instructor at Naval Air Station Pensacola. He was survived by his son, Robin Funderburk of Dothan, AL; daughter, Barbara S. Daniels of Dothan, AL; brother, Lieutenant Colonial Charles E. (Janet) Daniels, Jr. (retired) USMC of Newburn, NC; sister, Peggy A. Daniels Day of Cullman, AL; grandson, Gerald S. Clements of Birmingham, AL; two nephews, Matthew (Susan) Daniels of Albany, GA; John Day of Cullman, AL; and other relatives. Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Chris Kynard officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Pine Hill, AL. Arrangements by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL.
