Board accepts Castleberry resignation

In a called meeting Monday, the Demopolis Board of Education accepted the resignation of Demopolis Middle School band instructor Alaric Shawn Castleberry.

Other personnel matters approved included:

  • Mary Sue Moore, with professional teaching certificate, as a substitute
  • Transfer of Bryce Youmans from Demopolis High School to divided time among DMS, U.S. Jones Elementary and DMS.
  • Approving an assistant band director supplement of $2,500 for Youmans for the remainder of the school term.
  • Amend Kim Davis’ leave time from Jan. 21 to Jan. 6.

The board gave the okay for Supt. Kyle Kallhoff to travel to Atlanta for a meeting with Prestwick Co., on Jan. 9 to discuss the development of property between DHS and the Med Center. Travel also was approved for Kallhoff and DHS principal Blaine Hathcock to the AASA Youth Apprenticeship Summit Jan. 14-15 in Savannah, Ga.
