Black suffrage focus of USJ assembly

U.S. Jones Elementary School held a Black History Month student assembly on Wednesday, Feb. 26 focusing on “African Americans and the Vote.”

The theme spoke to the ongoing struggle on the part of both black men and black women for the right to vote.

Tiger Tones of U.S. Jones performs for assembly.

During the program, students led the pledge and recited historical facts. A newly formed choir called the “Tiger Tones of U.S. Jones” performed three songs.
