Arrests made following string of Greene County burglaries

On November 14, the Demopolis Police Department arrested three individuals following a string of burglaries in the Greene County area.

These arrests came after DPD Investigators assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in investigating several burglaries that occurred in Greene County, Ala. DPD Investigators were able to locate some of the stolen property taken in the burglaries and also found drug paraphernalia and drugs in possession.

Owsley, Jones, and Melton were arrested in connection with a string of burglaries that took place in Greene County.

Arrested were the following:

Karen Ann Owsley, age 22 of Demopolis, charged with the following:

  • One (1) Count of Receiving Stolen Property
  • One (1) Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

David Brandon Jones, age 41 of Demopolis, charged with the following:

  • One (1) Count of Receiving Stolen Property
  • One (1) Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Dennis Frazier Melton, age 22 of Gallion, charged with the following:

  • One (1) Count of Receiving Stolen Property
  • One (1) Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • One (1) Count of Possession of Marijuana

All were processed and transported the Marengo County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
