Anne Burt Davis Brock Boatner

Anne Burt Davis Brock Boatner of Marion, Ala., died on Sept. 17, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 2, 1926, to Martha McLemore Davis and Nathaniel Jones Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert (Bobby) Calhoun Brock, Jr.; husbands, Dr. Robert Calhoun Brock and Ellis Leon Boatner; and brother, Nathaniel Jones Davis III.

She is survived by her son, John McLemore Brock and his wife Claire Barton Brock of Tuscaloosa; granddaughter, Ashley Brock Caldwell (James Percy (Trey) Caldwell III) of Hoover; grandson, Robert Adam Brock (Ashley Pepper Brock) of Dothan; granddaughter, Amanda Ellen Brock Peek; daughter in law, Glenda Adams Brock; great-granddaughter, Jamie Cheyenne Peek of Opelika; great-grandsons, James Brock Caldwell and Davis McLemore Caldwell of Hoover; sister, Martha Davis Barton of Greensboro; sister in law, Ruth Brock Collinsworth (Henry T. Collinsworth) of Atlanta; and several nephews and nieces.

Burt was born and raised in Marion, Ala., and attended school at Perry County High School and Judson College.

She was very involved in the City of Marion, Judson College and the Marion Presbyterian Church in various capacities throughout her lifetime.

Her entire family was her pride and joy and she loved to reminisce about ‘old times’ with family and her many friends in Marion. Her favorite place to be was the beach.

Visitation with the family will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Marion Presbyterian Church, Marion, Ala., with graveside services immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Marion Cemetery Fund, The Wounded Warriors Project or charity of your choice.
