Demopolis 8U brings home district trophy

The Demopolis 8U Allstar team won District 10 and will move on to the state tournament in Theodore on June 25.   The district includes Demopolis, Thomasville, Butler, Jackson, Monroeville, Gilbertown, Millry, Sumter. 

Monday Demopolis defeated Monroeville 16-0, and the team beat Jackson 8-5 on Tuesday.

The team continued its winning streak on Wednesday facing Millry. The game had to stop in the third inning because of rain and unplayable field conditions, but play resumed Friday, and Demopolis won 9-0. On Thursday Demopolis defeated Sumter 11-0. 

Demopolis was the only team that went undefeated during Pool play. It was the Number 1 seed going in to Championship day  in Thomasville on Saturday. Demopolis faced Number 4 seed Butler and won 12-0. Demopolis played Jackson for the Championship title game and won 14-6.
