Tiger soccer thumps Central

The Demopolis High soccer team moved to 4-5-1 and 2-0 in area play Friday night as it thumped Central-Tuscaloosa 9-0.

Demopolis coach Keith Jackson called Central a much-improved team following the win, noting that CHS managed six shots on goal in the contest.

Demopolis took 17 shots in the match. Austin Brooks scored four goals in the contest, getting assists from Jace Rivas and Banks Compton as well as two helpers from Jeremy Chu along the way.

Oscar Valdivia scored three goals in the game, including one that was assisted by Clay McVay.

Ashley Dunn and McVay also got in on the scoring Friday night as each connected on the first goals of their respective varsity careers.

The Tigers are scheduled to host Central Tuesday evening at Demopolis High School.
