UWA Choir to present African-American Musical Tribute Feb. 19

LIVINGSTON — The Sumter County Fine Arts Council and the University of West Alabama Choir will present its African-American Musical Tribute Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. atUWA’s Bibb Graves Auditorium.

The Sumter County Fine Arts Council and UWA Choir have delighted West Alabama audiences for many years with its combination of classical and contemporary music and energetic performances.

On the heels of his well-received Legacy event, UWA Choir Director Willie Williams will lead his students in a Black History Month African-American musical tribute.

“Our celebration is a showcase of the rich and diverse art forms that have been influenced by the black community, from traditional works to the contemporary. We will take our guests on a journey via music, drama and dance. It is sure that this concert will deeply touch the audience and will be remembered long after the month of February ends,” Williams said.

SCFAC receives support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, the University of West Alabama, and other agencies, businesses, and individuals.
