Team Synergy wins Super Sunday Two tournament

Team Synergy, a USSSA travel baseball team from Synergy Sports Facility in Demopolis, won the Super Sunday Two tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery Sept. 15. The team played four games with just 15-minute breaks in between each contest. Team Synergy went 3-1 for the tournament.

The first game was against the Montgomery Rebels, the only loss for the day with a final score of 8-7. The next game was against the Opelika Big Dogs and Team Synergy had hot bats to put together a final score of 12-2.

The third game was a battle again against the Opelika Big Dogs where the game went into five tie-breakers. Team Synergy finally broke the tie, going on to win 9 -8.

Synergy moved on to the championship round against the Montgomery Rebels. This game had to also go into a tie-breaker and Team Synergy finally won the tournament with a final score of 9-7.

The pitchers for Team Synergy were Henry Overmeyer, Hunter Thrash, Charles Casper, Hunter Duren, Trey Malone and Jackson Cox.

Helping the pitchers out defensively were Payton Geary, Will Turberville, Collin McCrory, Ryan Nelson and Cameron Chapman. “Every single player on the team contributed to help the team win the championship,” stated head coach Ronnie Cox.

He also stated that he is very proud of the players for playing as a team and always encouraging each other when someone made an error or struck out. The coaches for Team Synergy are Ronnie Cox, Jason Turberville, R.J. Cox and Tom Nettles.
