LINDEN – Demopolis (11-8) pulled away in the second half Friday night en route to downing county rival Linden High 64-42.

The Tigers trailed 16-14 after one quarter of play thanks in large part to a pair of Dequan Charleston three-pointers. The Tigers took the lead in the second frame as Xavier Jowers hung six points on the board in the quarter, accounting for 12 in the first half. Shakari Williams and Tristian Jones each drained a triple in the period to help give the Tigers a 26-25 halftime lead.

Demopolis took over in the third quarter, getting five points each out of Jowers and Williams to spur a 15-5 run over the eight-minute stretch. Ladarius Adams added 14 points in the fourth quarter to help put the game out of reach.

Jowers finished the night with 21 points while Adams added 14. Williams scored eight in the effort.

Demopolis is set to play again Monday at Neshoba Central (Miss.) before hosting Greene County for Senior Night Thursday, Feb. 4. The regular season wraps Friday, Feb. 5 at Selma.
