Montz perfect in 15-0 win over Wilcox
Demopolis honored seniors Holli Gandy and Jessica Adams as part of Senior Night festivities Thursday.
Demopolis wrapped up an unblemished area slate Thursday with a 15-0 shellacking of Wilcox Central. Kayla Montz struck out all nine batters she faced on just 32 pitches to record the perfect game.
The Lady Tigers scored two runs in the first, eight in the second and five in the third en route to the win.
Courtney Smith was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Jessica Adams finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two driven in. Abbey Latham was 1-for-2 with one RBI and two runs scored. Kendall Hannah drove in a run. Anna Katherine Aldridge scored a run.
Bria Brown went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Natalie Tatum was 1-for-1 with one RBI. Elly Brown was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Taylor Smith was 3-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI. Kayla Montz finished 1-for-2 with one RBI. Holli Gandy went 1-for-1 with two runs scored.
Tatum, Montz, Courtney Smith and Taylor Smith each had a double. Bria Brown hit a triple. Latham and Courtney Smith stole two bases apiece. Adams stole three bases while Gandy stole one.
The Lady Tigers honored their senior duo of Adams and Gandy as part of Senior Night festivities.
Demopolis and Wilcox Central danced together to “Geeked Up” following Thursday’s game.
