Marengo Academy teams with strong showing at region tourney

Marengo Academy’s Varsity Boys Basketball Team placed 2nd at the AISA Region 2, Area 2 Tournament held Jan. 29-3 in Meridian at the Mississippi Community College. Team members are front row, Hayden Huckabee, Cason Cook, Carson Huckabee, Shade Pritchett, Sam Renner, Anthony Antonelli.  Back row, Luke McCray, Austen Day, Robert Gibbs, Landon Houlditch, Austin Eatmon, Andrew Martin, Daniel McCray, and Caleb Broadhead.  Coaches are Larry Huckabee, Norman Averette and Chasity Broadhead. The Longhorns will play in the Elite Eight in Montgomery.

Marengo Academy’s Andrea Edmonds was named to the All Tournament Team at the AISA Regional Basketball Tournament held at Mississippi Community College Jan. 29-31. The Lady Horns finished 4th in the Region 2, Area 2 and will be playing in the Elite Eight in Montgomery. Andrea is a senior at Marengo Academy and is the daughter of Duane and Robin Edmonds.

Marengo Academy’s Carson Huckabee and Shade Pritchett were named to the All Tournament Team at the AISA Regional Basketball Tournament held at Mississippi Community College January 29-31. The Longhorns placed 2nd in the Region 2, Area 2 and will be playing in the Elite Eight in Montgomery. Carson is the son of Larry and Sonya Huckabee and Shade is the son of Chuck and Pam Pritchett. Both are seniors at Marengo Academy.
