MA holds oratorical contest

Marengo Academy held its local oratorical contest on Oct. 3.

The topic for this year is “As a society, how can we decrease the rising number of children being diagnosed with diabetes as a result of unhealthy living?”

There were three students chosen from each grade 9–12.

The top four students advanced to the district contest.

Winning the local oratorical contest were (left to right) 1st – Mary Jordan Drake, 2nd – Amber Ray, 3rd – Haley Mitchell, 4th – Robert Gibbs. These students will represent Marengo Academy at the District Contest on Oct. 23.
