Linden has large squad qualify for state meet

IMG952015042595170817The Linden High track team had a strong showing at sectional competition last weekend and sends a handful of competitors to this week’s state track meet.

On the girls side, Jakaria Miller qualified in the 100-Meter Dash. Tameria Aldridge will run in the 200-Meter Dash. Miller will run in the 400-Meter Dash. Sierra Johnson qualified for the 800-Meter Dash. Tyressa Anthony and Rachelle Varner will run in the 100-Meter Hurdles.

Aldridge qualified in the Triple Jump. Imiya Agee qualified in the Shot Put. Boykins will compete in the Discus Throw while Alicia Harris and Agee take part in the Javelin Throw.

Tomysha Boykin and Aldridge qualified for the 300-Meter Hurdles. Linden also had girls qualify in the 4×400-Meter Relay and the 4×800-Meter Relay.

On the boys side, Devonte Knox, Jaleel Jones and Henry Lee will run in the 100-Meter Dash. Tywan Smith qualified in the 200-Meter Dash along with Jones and Knox.

Javarius Goins and Smith qualified for the 400-Meter Dash while Dewayne Charleston, Isiah Scott and Jaleel Evans are in the 800-Meter Run.

Evans made the 1600-Meter Run. Charles Blackman and Darius Jones are each in the 110-Meter Hurdles and the 300-Meter Hurdles.

Dequan Charleston and Christopher Robinson each made the High Jump competition. Goins, Dequan Charleston and Knox are Long Jump competitors.

Goins, Dequan Charleston and Lee are in the Triple Jump field.

Lee qualified for Shot Put while Dequan Charleston qualified for Discus Throw and Dewayne Charleston made Javelin Throw.

Linden boys also qualified for the 4×100-Meter Relay, the 4×400-Meter Relay and the 4×800-Meter Relay.
