Linden downs Notasulga, moves to quarterfinals

NOTASULGA — Linden (9-2) punched its ticket to the quarterfinal round of the AHSAA Class 1A playoffs Friday night by downing Notasulga 26-14.

Linden jumped on top just 12 second into the game when C.J. Robinson hit Dequan Charleston for a 62-yard touchdown pass. Justin Jenkins then added  3-yard run to stretch it to 14-0.

Lebrandon Williams opened it up even further with a 12-yard run in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 20-0.

Notasulga fired back with a 24-yard pass from Khalil Jones to Aurick Cloud. Gary Cook then scored on a 3-yard run and added his own conversion to make it 20-14.

Charleston then found then end zone again with 9:47 to play, hauling in an 80-yard strike from Robinson to set the game at its final score.

Charleston caught two passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking off two passes on defense. Williams ran 11 times for 94 yards. Robinson was 3 of 4 passing for 158 yards and two scores.

Linden tallied 408 yards of offense. Notasulga ends its season at 9-3. Linden travels to face Brantley next week.
